Edwin Gamboa trabaja actualmente como asistente de investigación en el grupo User-centric Analysis of Multimedia Data de la TU Ilmenau. Al mismo tiempo realiza su doctorado en Diseño Centrado en el Usuario de Aplicaciones Basadas en Crowdsourcing. Además coordina el área de Juegos Digitales y Gamificación en del grupo de Multimedia y Visión de la Universidad del Valle. En donde realiza investigación en Juegos Serios, Gamificación, Experiencia de Usuario y Diseño Centrado en el Usuario.
